Contact Sony to let them know that you support this app and you would like them to support it also.  And if they could unblock T-Mobile and allow the PS3 Friends community to utilize their site.

Hello everyone,

First and foremost, thank you everyone for providing me helpful feedback, and supporting the app. I unpublished the app from the market since it is not working on the 2g/3g US Tmobile network (seems Sony is blocking access coming from the Tmobile network). Mind you it still works using Wi-Fi. But, I am not sure what the future is of this app is. Hopefully this is a temporary blockage, however I doubt it. The latest release probably contributed to it, since the number of requests could max from 6 to 43, but this is the same method used on the site, however updating 4 times an hour probably threw up some flags. I was worried about it, however, Sony is a large company and I was hoping they would be interested in their user base being more attached to their community.

If this isn’t a temporary blockage and there isn’t a resolution, I might remove the notification system, and make it a manual update process (as obviously they weren’t to happy about it), as I do not want to have this occur on other networks (Sprint/Verizon/ATT). But that would be like “having a bathroom without having aroma therapy candles. Come on!!” But this all depends on whether I want to continue investing the time. Sad, had some really cool ideas, if I don’t continue this, I might pass them on to the Itrophies and MyPsn authors. Unless someone has contact with Sony, chances are this is the case.

And if you were wondering why Itrophies and MyPsn don’t have this issue, it is because they cannot do background updates, which allowed notifications. So I might have to cripple the app, at least by default. If I decide to continue.

At least I was able to get my publisher fee back, and a fraction of the cost of the book I purchased with the ads.

Probably going to post up those stats also for other devs to learn about how well admob is as a revenue model. Which it really isn’t that great.

Best thing to do is complain to Sony

Sony Site Forbidden?

It seems that using the TMobile network (2g/3g not Wi-Fi) and the web browser this is the screen I am getting when I attempt to login at  Using Wi-Fi I have no problem.  So if you are having problems, it seems to be related to the TMobile network and Sony, not the app.  Hopefully this is only temporary.


The site is currently down for maintenance.  Not sure if this has anything to do with the other issue encountered today.  It seems that using the app through Tmobile, it won’t work.  If you use it through wifi off of Tmobiles network it works.  I wonder if either Sony or Tmobile are blocking the traffic.  Can’t see whats going on until the site comes back up.


Connection Issues

It seems that there is a problem connecting to the Sony Site, that just started this morning.  I will investigate it tonight, it could be just an intermitten issue with the site.  But I will figure it out.


Usually if you are getting Force Closes after an update that will not let you start the app, they can be resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling the app.  For whatever reason sometimes there are incompatibilities with updates.

Blank Screen? Try turning on your Wi-Fi and making sure that your connection is good and try click the menu -> update to force an update.  Sometimes the first time, it cannot make a good enough connection and it takes a while to either download or times out.  I will probably be updating the interface when updating the first time to display a dialog to inform you of the status.

But please email me ( or leave a comment on this site if you have any problems, so I can get in touch with you to figure out the problems and make the app better.  And check out the FAQ as there is some hopefully useful information.
